ANDERSON, IN — The Anderson Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce its 2026–2027 concert season, Postcards in Sound — a dynamic musical journey and the first fully curated season under the artistic leadership of Daniel Wiley, Artistic Director and Conductor.
Following an extraordinary debut year that quickly established Daniel Wiley as a favorite among musicians and audiences alike, the upcoming season reflects his bold artistic vision, thoughtful storytelling, and commitment to creating meaningful concert experiences that connect deeply with the community.
“Daniel has brought remarkable energy, creativity, and heart to the Anderson Symphony Orchestra,” said Darla R. Sallee, Executive Director. “This season beautifully reflects his vision for what an orchestra can be — welcoming, adventurous, emotionally moving, and deeply connected to the people we serve.”
The 59th concert season invites audiences to explore a rich collection of musical destinations, each performance serving as its own “postcard” from a unique world of sound.
The season opens on October 24, 2026, with ¡Masquerade!, an evening of mystery, elegance, and drama featuring a collaboration with Anderson Young Ballet Theatre.
Additional highlights include:
- Handel’s Messiah (November 22) — one of the most beloved masterworks in orchestral history
- Holiday Pops (December 12) — a cherished Anderson tradition featuring a live performance of The Snowman
- Kaleidoscope (March 5) — a colorful orchestral showcase at Anderson University’s Reardon Auditorium
- Italian Café (April 3) — an immersive musical experience blending atmosphere, interaction, and Italian-inspired programming
- Star Wars! (May 2) — an epic season finale celebrating one of cinema’s most iconic scores
While the majority of performances will take place in the historic Paramount Theatre, two concerts will offer audiences unique experiences at alternate venues, adding even more variety to the season’s journey.
“Music has the power to transport us—to stir memories, spark imagination, and connect us to one another,” said Daniel Wiley. “With Postcards in Sound, we wanted to create a season that feels like an adventure — one that honors beloved traditions while inviting audiences to discover something new. I cannot wait to share this journey with Anderson.”
